Contemporary conceptual artist Nancy Good creates, joyfully. The evidence lies in her palette and patterns. She works on a large scale, which is always fun, if physically demanding. Her curiosity compels her to play with new tech, science and visual affects. She's simply unafraid of experimentation.
Some people believe that joyfulness is foolishness. Good is very grounded in our very real world. She chooses her issues wisely. She hunts for perspective. Good uses many layers in her work. Not all are visual. Her work seeks to serve, delight, inspire, and move minds beyond the two-dimensional plane.

For many years, I have had the privilege of working alongside some of the most talented artists in Southern Nevada, and artist Nancy Good stands among the very best. Nancy has built a remarkable reputation as an artist whose work reflects creativity, technical excellence, and an unwavering commitment to enriching our community through public art.
Beyond her artistic talent, Nancy is a consummate professional. She approaches every project with integrity, collaboration, and a genuine passion for creating work that inspires people and enhances the spaces where they live, work, and gather. Her ability to transform ideas into meaningful works of art has made her a respected figure within Las Vegas’ cultural community.
As a Cultural Anthropologist and curator, I have always believed that great public art tells the story of a community. Nancy’s work does exactly that. Her projects celebrate place, invite conversation, and leave lasting impressions on everyone who experiences them. On behalf of Psionic Art Works, I am proud to offer my strongest endorsement of artist Nancy Good. She is an exceptional artist, actor, model, teacher, an outstanding collaborator, and someone whose contributions have strengthened Southern Nevada’s growing arts and cultural landscape. I look forward to seeing her continue to shape the visual identity of Las Vegas for many years to come.

I remember my first time wandering through her gallery in Las Vegas, surrounded by her colorful work in large and small scale - I still swear it vibrated with energy. Nancy's work moves the eye of the viewer along its color and intricate texture, patterns, and rhythms in a way that is difficult to describe with words but one absolutely experiences for themselves. It is exquisite and dynamic. It was my pride and pleasure to bring her contemporary work to my own gallery spaces, filling an entire floor of the historic property with her incredible work and vision.

Nancy is not only an incredible artist, but an incredible person. We've been friends for many years, and in that time, I've been lucky enough to collect more than 30 of her pieces. Every piece is special in its own way. Each has its own story, its own moment, and I never get tired of looking at them. Her attention to detail and creativity stands out in every piece. Watching her work grow and evolve over the years has been a real joy. She has a rare gift, and I'm honored to hold a part of her collection, and even more honored to call her a friend.

The First Friday Foundation has been honored to host artist Nancy Good as a mentor in our residency program. During her time with us, she has supported and inspired several local artists while continuing to develop her own practice and create exceptional new bodies of work.
She treats everyone in the residency program with patience and respect. Displays kindness and generously goes about sharing her knowledge. Each day, she arrives prepared to open the studio and carefully plans her work to honor her commitment to the program. She has also supported our student programs by creating thoughtful murals aligned with ARTUOK?, recognizing that art is essential-not optional-in helping students navigate complex emotions.
We are honored to have the opportunity to work with Nancy. I am honored personally to know Nancy Good and grateful for the time and energy she has given to our community.

It is a special pleasure for me to write about Nancy Good, not only because I admire her enormously as an artist, but because I am lucky enough to call her my friend.
The phrase I have used more than once to describe Nancy is "unending creativity." I can think of no one for whom those words are more appropriate. Nancy is always exploring, always questioning, always finding another way to make something happen. Her imagination simply doesn't seem to have an off switch. Her abstract paintings, often mural-sized, are unmistakably her own. Great shapes of color seem to shift, change and move before you, while those wonderful dots of paint that continually appear throughout her work dance across the surface, sometimes connecting things and sometimes happily disrupting them. They have become part of Nancy's visual vocabulary - a kind of personal punctuation.
And then, just when you think you know where Nancy is going, she surprises you. Her continuing experiments with light and technology have opened still more possibilities, bringing an entirely new dimension to work that was already adventurous.
But there is another part of Nancy that I treasure just as much. We are both artists living and working in Las Vegas, and I have seen the affection and respect she has earned here. Nancy gives of herself. She encourages younger artists, mentors them, supports them and genuinely cares about their success. Her commitment to our arts community is not something she merely talks about - it is something she lives.
I have been making art for a very long time, and one of the great pleasures of a life in art is encountering someone whose excitement about creating never seems to diminish.
That is Nancy.
She keeps looking. She keeps experimenting. She keeps surprising us.
And, most wonderfully, I don't think she knows how to stop.
